Residential Fire Alarm

Stations 221, 225 and 227 were dispatched at 7:48pm for a fire alarm activated at 7958 Orlan Place. County Dispatch reported a female on scene with the wrong password stating a false alarm. 221 Squad crew proceeded in to confirm a false alarm. All units returned in service.

Vehicle Fire

Stations 225 and 221 were dispatched at 12:22pm for a reported vehicle fire as a result of a motor vehicle crash near Bobo's Carwash on Frankstown Road. As companies were acknowledging the call, County Dispatch advised that police on scene reported no fire and no need for fire or rescue. All units returned in service.

Commercial Fire Alarm

Stations 225 and 221 were dispatched at 10:25am for a commercial fire alarm at the Valmar Apartment Building. 225 Engine arrived on scene reporting nothing showing. Command held the assignment with 225 Engine. Crews found the alarm activated in error due to a problem with phone lines. Alarm was reset and all fire units returned in service.

10155 Pearl Road
Natural Gas Emergency

St. 225, 221, & 227 were alerted for an odor of gas in air. 221 Chief arrived on scene assumining Command and reporting an active gas leak from an abandoned service line from a previously burned out and demolished structure. Command also requested Dominion Peoples Gas notified for a service tech to respond. Command held the assignment to the Squad, ENG, & SVC, returning 227 and the Medics. A demolition crew was on scene removing the burned out structure and struck the service line that was believed to have been terminated. Crews located Curb Box and used curb key from the Squad to shut gas service off. Dominion Tech arrived on scene and situation was turned over to him and the Demolition Crew. All Fire and EMS Services returned in service.
