302 Grove Road
Misc Fire

St. 221 & 225 were alerted for a Lawn Mower on Fire in the rear of a yard. 225 EN1 arrived on scene reporting the fire to be out and that all units could return in service.

Frankstown Rd. @ Wilson
Transformer and Hot Wires Down

Station 225 was alerted for the report of a Utility pole down with Hot wire Sparking. 225 EN arrived on Scene with 225 TK seconds Behind. Units found Numerous live wires down with Four Transformers. Crews also Encountered Numerous Small Fires Due to the Live Wires. Chief 225 Took Command and Had 223 Added for their Spill units due to the oil leaking from the Transformers. DQ Light was notified. Frankstown Rd and Wilson Dr. were both Shut down to all Traffic. While units were awaiting the Arrival of the Light Company. Several other call came in due to the Outage. Units were Notified for 10960 Frankstown RD. ( the Granger House) due the the Facility housing Elderly People some on Medical Equipment. Assistance was need to move Patients due to the Facility not having power. While units were Operating both of these calls yet another was Struck For Betty Jane Ct. for a Large Controlled Burn.. Units Investigated and Returned to further Assist Frankstown Rd. Command.. Station 221 Was then added to the call for their spill units due to the Large Amount of oils on the Road ways. Units Worked on Scene for about 2hours.

Ozan Way
Vehicle Fire

In the early morning hours Approx 01:00 Hours. Stations 221 and 225 were alerted for Blackadore Ave for a reported Vehicle on Fire. Additional callers reported the fire to be on Ozan Way. 225 EN 1 Arrived on scene followed by SER 221  to find a passenger car Fully Involved. Crew from 225 EN Extinguished the fire. Units Operated on scene for Approx. 30 minutes.

428 Hochberg Road
Structure Fire

St. 225 & 221 alerted for reported Structure Fire. 225 EN1 arrived on scene finding a Space Heater had caught a Matress on Fire, req assistance removing the mattress. 225 TK and 221 EN1 called en route. Crews removed and extingusihing the matress and other debris that was on fire. Ventilation was started. 225 TK arrived and assisted as well. 225 CH held the units on scene and returnd all others. Units operated approx. 30 minutes and returned in service.

Woods Rd @ Dersam St.
Residential Structure Fire

Stations 225,221 were alerted for a unknown type fire in the area of Woods Rd. @ Desam St.. while enroute smoke visible from stations 225 and 221 and additional calls coming into County Communications advising it was a fully involved Structure with Fire thru the Roof. Also call were being recieved saying the news was broadcasting it live as a structure fire that was thru the roof. Station 227 was then added to the Assignment. On the Arrival of 225 E the structure was in the City of Pgh on Deram St. and Park Way. PBF was on scene starting the Attack. All units were Cancelled by 225 Chief and the fire was Being handled by PBF. All Units returned.

04/22/2008 - Tuesday
Aber Rd. @ Grove Rd.
MVA w/ Hazards

St. 221 and 222 were alerted early this morning for a MVA w/ Hazards and Injuries. Chief 221 along with 222 RQ arrived on scene to find a Mini Van on its side with extensive damage, a Pole spilt and1 male down on the ground. M382 was on scene rendering care as well as Penn Hills PD. 221 ENG1, 221 SVC, and 222 SQ arrived shortly after. Crews checked for additonal PT's and began clean up. DUQ Light was notified to respond as well. Medics transported the PT to a local hospital and crews returned in service. 13T5 arrived to remove the vehicle and DUQ light was on scene and had to call a Line Crew to replace the Pole.

04/16/2008 - Wednesday
257 Suncrest Dr.
Residential Structure Fire

St. 221, 225, 227 alerted for possible structure fire at 257 Suncrest Dr. 227 Eng 1 arrived on scene reporting a moderate smoke condition on first floor. Additional units arrived on scene and began investigation. Crews used several TIC's and Heat Gun. Crews were unable to locate any fire. Utilities were requested. Meter was pulled on outside of house and all mains were pulled as well. Crews noticed a blow fuse in panel. Crews also found a build up of heat on first floor wall and used pike poles to poke investigation hole, nothing was found. Duq Light and EQT Gas on scene as well as 516 FM1. Duq Light checked situation and advised home owner to contact electrician to inspect and repair the home wiring. EQT Gas shut off meter and tagged. Red Cross was notified for Home Owner for shelter. Units ventilated structure with PPV from TK225. The cause that was later attributed to an over loaded electrical outlet in a bathroom. All units cleared the scene.

Vehicle Fire

St. 221, 225, and 222 were operating at the Structure Fire on Dollman Rd. when a second call came in for a vehicle fire. Command released 221 EN2, 222 EN1, and 225 TK to respond. 221 EN2 arrived on scene with a working vehicle fire followed by 225 TK. Command released 222 EN1 and Crews on scene would handle extinguishing the fire. All units returned in service in about 30 minutes.

04/10/2008 - Thursday
7918 Dollman Rd.
Residential Structure Fire (Confirmed)

St. 225 was alerted for a reported Electrical Fire in the Hallway, and the resident was reporting the fire to be extinguished. Whie 225 EN1 was enroute they were updated that another caller reporting fire thru the roof. St. 221 was added on the box. 225En1 arrived shortly after reporting heavy smoke and fire from the roof, requesting TK225 to take a plug at Ivyland and Dollman. 221 EN1 was enroute as well as 221 Chief. 221 Crews arrived and assisted the 225 Crews already working. 222 RIT was then added to the box for RIT Operations. 222 RIT was requested to set up in side yard and have there additional crews ladder the building. All Utilities and 516 FM1 were notified. Fire was under Control and crews were going into Overhaul Mode. Overhaul and Ventilation were completed. FM1 arrived on scene for investigation. Red Cross was also alerted to assist the Family. Units began returning as they picked up. While units were still operating a 2nd call was struck in the 225th for a Vehicle Fire. 221 EN2, 222 EN1 and 225 TK handled the detail.

1839 Loretta Dr.
Residential Structure Fire

St. 223, 226, & 227 were alerted to the 1900 Blk of Loretta Dr. for a WSF. 911 was recieving multiple calls for a fire in the area. 223 Capt called out with a working fire on Side C extending thru the Roof. 223 EN1 arrived on scene req 223 EN2 take a Plug and 911 to strike 222 for the RIT. Shortly after stand by procedures were struck adding 221, 224, 225, & 285 on the Alarm for coverage of the other Stations. 516 FM1 and all utilities were notified as well. Sally Wagon was started for Rehab. Units operated for about 2 hours and units returned as they picked up.
